Our oven element arced, melted and caused a 1 hour heat cycle to reach 200 degrees. I looked online to replace the part, but my oven is from 1987. The part from Part Select matched (I triple checked) and hoped it would work. I used a chair to hold the open oven door, instead of removing the entire door. I fastened it with duct tape and padding. Working inside the oven is hard to reach, so I knew I would lean on the door. I set up a Craftsman work halogen work light to allow for best visibility. a few items to note:-be sure to turn of the breaker, have extra tools handy. My replacement element had screws that would not work, I had to use my Craftsmen set up sockets to replace the new element. This is a great time to clean out your oven. Overall the job only took about 40 minutes, set up and break down included. $25 and my time was sure better than buying a new oven.-Rob
