bad design from GE auger not strong enough

Removed three phillips head screws, I used a butter knife vice a flat head screw driver to slip between the housing and turn unit, the knife is thinner. Left hand threads on the holding nut turn off. Take off turning fingers, place in order. To ensure the problem does not happen again do not buy any more G E products. This is the fourth time I had to fix this problem in three years. The whole ice making system is poorly designed.
