I peeled back the touch pad which was glued to a backer piece. I them removed two screws that allowed the entire ice dispenser to be freed from the refrigerator door. It also allowed access to a control board. A ribbon cable runs from the touch pad, through the backer and plugs into a connector on the cntrol board. By unplugging the cable the entire touch pad was released. I then fed the ribbon cable on the new touch pad throught the backer and connected it to the board. I then stripped offthe paper backing revealing a sticky surface on the new touch pad. That was stuck to the backer, the cover replaced and two screws reinserted. Job done! The repair shop wante $550 fo rthis repair. I saved nearly $500!!!!
