Followed website video on heater. Part came with instructions and wire to make existing wire longer if needed. I replaced single defrost heater with double. Really easy, but I had taken the back panel off before. Splicing the wire was not necessary on my old GE side by side so no silicone sealant was needed as it warns you on the web site. Defrost thermostat was simple, just splice in new one (see video). This did not say to use sealant. Thermostat may have been good but for ten bucks it seemed wise to just replace it at the same time rather than do it again. I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE ABILITY TO SEE A VIDEO ABOUT THE REPAIR BEFORE ORDERING PARTS AND DURING THE REPAIR.
