I am more fortunate than most because I have extensive mechanical repair experience and my father has extensive electrical repair experience...he read the schematic while I placed the probes in the appropriate locations...I completely disassembled, cleaned, replaced all maintenance parts (felt gaskets [front & back of drum], drive belt, foam gaskets on heat exhaust duct)...the culprit was found to be the Thermal Fuse but I also replaced the Cycling Thermstat just because I serviced the entire heat exhaust duct (it had a fair amount of lint in it after 14 years...all other sensors on the heater unit and switches (door switch & centrifical switch (you will never find this unless you take out the drive motor [it is inside the drive motor] were tested and found to be good...all dash controls / switches were found to be in good order also...Part Select is wonderful to work with...they said allow 5 days but the parts were here in 2...! Just a little help for all of you out there...putting the felt gasket on the back of the drum will test your patience...it is a little smaller than the drum and as you get near the end with the glue it is extremely difficult to get on...I would recommend having a lot of clamps handy to hold the portion that is already glued to drum in place and another set of hands to rotate drum while you are stretching on the remaining foot...! One other thing...if you don't want to go thru everything I did chances are quite strong that if the dryer does not restart (after first failing) I would say to just order the Thermal Fuse for the 9-10.00...it is a pretty safe bet this will be your problem...I believe the dryer will start / restart even if the heater unit is no good and or the Cycling Thermostat goes bad since that just senses humidity...? The switch and fuse on the motor are not replaceable here...my father had contacts to get those parts from the motor company but...one is designed to stop the motor if it becomes hot which in all honesty I think would be pretty rare...it is in an open area...the other switch inside the motor prevents the heater from heating up until the motor is spinning which inturn spins the exhaust fan which is a safety feature but again I think motor failure is pretty rare.
