The handle for my dishwasher has been broken for several years but still worked if I pushed just the right way on it. I thought it was going to be an expensive and tedious project so I've been putting it off for a long, long time. I finally decided to try it myself, versus using a repairperson. I watched the video on this site and thought, hey, I can do that! I borrowed my boyfriend's torx screwdriver set to remove the screws around the door and pulled out the latch assembly (didn't disconnect, just looked at it) and put it all back together until I the part came in. Part came in soon after and I went back through the same steps. The other reviews are correct. It's really tough to get the latch assembly disconnected from the cable things (sorry! I'm not a dishwasher tech-savvy person!) but once those were free, the new one slid into place with no problems and I reapplied the screws around the door and voila! It works great! I do recommend you watch the video ENTIRELY before working on anything AND when removing the latch assembly, remember which set of cables detached from which side - very important when reassembling. Also, disconnect the power to the dishwasher before starting. Luckily I have a switch on the wall to control that. Happy repairs to you!
