After ordering the latch handle replacement part, and before I received it, I continued using the dishwasher by placing a chair against the dishwasher door to prevent it opening during the wash cycle. Once started, no automatic "off" would allow you to add more dirty dishes. I placed a towel along the bottom edge to collect any drips, but they were extremely minimal. Once the part arrived, I removed the screws holding the inside plastic lining of the door and noted how the old latch part attached. The old part had to be unplugged which, in theory, looked quite easy, but the prongs of the plug were very, very tight and using much more force than I expected to use, and prying with a pair of pliers, the plug came free. The new part simply was plugged in, white plug matching white and black plug matching black. The latch was held in place with two of the door lining screws used to replace the inner door liner. OK, that seemed too simple--I did not expect it to completely work, but it did. The lighting and automatic off when the door was opened and everything worked just perfect. YEA!
