Ice Maker Stopped Making Ice

When the Ice Maker stopped, I called a repair guy. He wanted almost $500.00 to do the job. I thanked him and paid the $75.00 fee for coming out and got on PartSelect.com to look at what he said was wrong. I ordered the parts -- they came amazingly quickly -- and looked at the videos. The hardest part was that the water valve was a complete replacement and it took a little while to figure out the changes (the old one had nuts and threads; it was completely different). In fact I almost sent it back -- it looked like the wrong part. Once I got going (after chatting with Janet in customer service -- she was awesome!), it took just about two hours to do the whole job. It works great now. My wife even thanked me -- that rarely happens!
