Took off the rear panel of the door as suggested by others on this site. Took out screws holding handle and saved them. While the new handle comes with screws that are too long it is not a problem. I used the old screw to fix the top of the handle but the longer screw was used with 2 washers to afix the bottom. This seems a more substantial fix as I tend to open the door with a slight twist which causes extra pressure on the bottom of the handle. I appreciated the comments on the fix by others as it gave me the coursge to do the fix. I'm happy, the wife is happy and we saved quite a bit by not having to buy a new microwave.
