First I watched some videos (thanks PartsSelect!) on how to take apart the dryer. I took off the front panels and manually rotated the drum to hear where the sound was coming from. After determining it to be from the area of the blower wheel, I took off the bulkhead and the panel covering the blower wheel and visually inspected the parts. I discovered that the front retaining ring had fallen off the motor shaft and that the blower wheel was able to spin freely, independent of movement from the drum. So I ordered the parts, and after waiting a few days for them, installed them. Now the dryer works like new!
