Open the dishwasher door fully so it is laying out parallel to the floor. With the right sized star-head screwdriver remove all the screws from the inside door liner panel, lift up the liner panel and tilt it back out of the way.I had my wife hold it up for me (at a 90 degree angle from the door while I worked on the latch assembly)as it doesn't just lift away free due to wiring. I removed and inspected the latch switch and handle from its pocket in the upper door for breakage and wear. In my case the handle was broken but the latch switch itself with wire leads attached was not damaged and there were no obvious signs of wear to the plastic cam.I had purchased the handle and switch assembly (two separate parts)to be safe but I opted to just snap in the the new handle in the old switch and keep the new switch in reserve in case I need it in the future. These parts are all kind of flimsy white plastic and exposed to fairly high temperatures during operation so it is not unreasonable to expect future problems with the switch or handle. The latch assembly gets a lot of use and could be of more rugged design. I replaced the latch assembly in its pocket with the new handle snapped in, refitted the inner door liner panel carefully, making sure it went back the way it came out with respect to wires, fit, and insulation; replaced the screws (do not over-tighten; tightening them by hand gives you a sense of the proper torque, a power driver might tighten them too much accidentally and strip out the threads. Then you're in some serious doo-doo!). The dishwasher and door latch works just like new and no service call. This company was super-fast with my Internet order, reasonably priced, and the parts were the right ones. My dishwasher was only out of service for a couple of days and my wife thinks I'm a hero!If only all of life's fixes were so easy!
