removed grill grates, lift back end of grill about 1/2 inch and slide the whole mechanism to the rear, removal is complete, line up new insert with porcelain receptors near front of range, mark spot where small metal protrusion on range prevents insert from sliding in completely, drill hole in insert at place marked slightly larger than diameter of protrusion, insert the new burner assembly (insert) by sliding metal prongs into porcelain receptors, making sure gas openings are lined up with gas nozzles under porcelain receptors, lay grate on top, done
Easy but no mention was made of needing to drill as no instruction came with it. It took me 10 minutes to make sure I wasn't going to damage the new insert by drilling into it, but I could tell there was a large void behind the factory dimple that lined up with the metal protrusion on the range. It works fine, the downdraft does not automatically turn on any more. Its nice to have 4 burners.
