After about a year of manually defrosting the freezer every 6 weeks my wife called an appliance repair man. For some reason that motivated me to start looking into fixing the problem online. I saw the parts here on and it looked like the exact same problem that I was having. - I defrosted the freezer and then removed the 2 screws holding in the old heater and then re routed the blue wire down the right side of the freezer (to accommodate the double element unit instead of the single) and then plugged the two wires into the new heating element and re-attached it with the two aforementioned screws. The only tricky part was the metal freon tubing needed to be bent back slightly to avoid contact with the heater element housing, but that was easy to do. Fixed the problem right away and now my freezer defrosts itself!
