Clothes were getting stuck in the top of the dryer and as a result they were basically getting chewed up (creating holes in clothes).

I googled the problem and found a forum where people were having the same problem. Luckily I found a post that told me the exact parts I needed. I then found a video on youtube, followed every step and completed the repairs in about 45 minutes. I'm a housewife and found this fairly easy. The dryer now works like a charm!
