Upper part of agitator quit working

Simply removed the top piece where fabric softner goes. Then pulled off the upper part of agitator and removed a part inside per instructions with agitator repair kit. I called Whirlpool service and asked if this was something I could do. The lady insisted we must have a repairman come to our home. HA LOL. I'm glad we did not listen. Look how much money we saved. The agitator works like new.
