Diagnosis was more difficult than the repair (90 minutes of diagnosis and research time, maybe 30 minutes of repair time).

Researched 88 error codes online and, after finding the repair manual for this model, discovered the dryer would not go into diagnosis mode to return an actual error code. Ordered the new board as a result.

Installed the new board (8 screws, 2 bolts) and transferred the plugs in about 15 minutes, then when I went to test the machine I received a PF message on the new board and the dryer still wouldn't run.

Did some more research on the web and learned that PF refers to power failure. Pulled off the power cord panel (2 bolts) to see my hot lead had burned up and it split in half as soon as I touched it. Ordered a new cord and installed it (another 10 minutes), now the dryer now runs like a champ.
