I have to admit, I cheated...
Our dishwasher stopped working, and we called our trusty appliance repair company. They came over, and I watched him take off the control panel of the dishwasher, and he showed me how moisture had gotten into the ribbon cable connecting the control panel to the dishwasher itself, causing the short circuit.
The repair company apparently called all their distributors but could not find the part. They apologized over and over about not being able to help me. As they were apologizing, I was searching PartSelect.com and immediately found and ordered the part.
The repair itself was simple, but our dishwasher is old and I felt compelled to clean up the parts as I took them off to replace the control panel. Be careful...some of them are sharp!
But the new control panel snapped right in, and the dishwasher has been working great for the last two weeks. This was a completely OEM part too, not a substitute part...it looks exactly like the old control panel.
I am completely delighted!
