Website seemed to indicate that the thermal fuse was the most likely problem. Removed fuse after marking wire color on the chasis and performed continuity test which confirmed diagnosis. Ordered part which came within two working days. Installed as per instruction and tested dryer which worked as expected. While apart, used vacuum to clean up lint inside the dryer and exhaust duct.

Had a question though, which was not answered by the website: why did the fuse fail? Since it is a 'thermal' fuse assumed it might have gotten too hot but there was no indication of overheating. Does this fuse simply wear out?
