Lately every time I washed my clothes there was this bad dirty smell like old moldy softener. It would leak into the clothes and into the tub after the wash cycle. You could see it dripping from the softener holes. I decided to take it apart and replace the agitator that was not turning on the top half. Turns out the liquid softener holes from the agitator was plugged up with gunk after not cleaning the machine in years and there was about a cup of old moldy softener just trickling out of the gunk holes every wash.
After watching the video, cleaning the agitator parts inside and replacing them with the new one, it seems like I have a new washer again! And I was this close the tossing it out. Just a little DIY will save you big time!
