I wasn't sure what part of the icemaker was bad -- the shaft from the motor broke but I didn't know if that was the problem or if the heater had gone bad, keeping the ice from coming out or if the control module was bad so it wasn't signalling the heater or what so I decided to replace everything and only do it once! Removed the old one held by a few screws, unclipping the wiring harness and installing the new one -- perfect fit. My wiring harness in the refrig plugged right into the new unit. Didn't have to use any supplied patch cords. The new unit started cycling in fifteen minutes. It doesn't make quite as much ice as the old one did but it certainly makes enough. Smooth sailing -- hassle free.
