Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.
My ice breaker started leaking and making noise anf the stripper broke.
I ended up needing to order a new ice maker because the one I had is discontinued. I'm a 65yr old grandma and I did it myself!!!! The hardest part was finding the tool to loosed the nuts. I took the old one out and just put the new one right in it's place. Easy as pie.

Ice maker Stripper lost a tooth
First turn off the power, remove the ice tray, remove the two screws holding the ice maker to the side of the freezer, use the screw driver to gently open the electrical clip for the power cord inside the freezer, remove the complete unit from freezer, bend the old stripper from the holding pin- it is flexible- it will bend, replace the new stripper on the holding pin and bend into the slot to hold it firmly, no water will come out from the fill cup into the freezer, plug in the power cord, mount back to side of freezer, you are done.

Stripper on the icemaker broke into pieces.
Remove the two nuts holding the top of the unit to the side of the freezer using a 1/4 in nutdriver. Pull the unit out and unplug it from the back of the freezer. Remove all pieces of the broken stripper. The replacement part fits onto a peg on the back of the icemaker and into a slot. Bend into place and slide into position.

Ice maker makes ice however stripper has broken pieces, sometimes will not allow ice to drop. Will replacing the stripper resolve the problem?
PartSelect logo
Hi Nelda, Thank you for your question. If your ice stripper is broken then it will definitely need to be replaced. It is the part that helps push the cubes out of your ice mold. You may need to make sure that the heater on the ice maker is working as well. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
