After trying to remove the drive coupling as instructed & just could not get it to loosen by prying under it, I very carefully inserted a very small screwdriver up through the bottom cooling slots and rested it against the fan blade on the motor. As soon as I attempted to twist the coupling off it immediately loosened and unscrewed w/ minimal effort. The new one screwed right on as detailed. One must be extremely careful if inserting something up through the bottom, however.
And, never do it w/ the unit anywhere near an electrical outlet. Perhaps a small plastic insertion tool for said purpose could be considered as an inclusion in with the repair part.
