ther were several items, the upper dryer was not heating. I took the front off the lower dryer and basically kept on removing parts until I got to the smaller heating element. I tested the heating element for 120vac, found nothing. there are two heat sensors, thermal cutout switch and a thermal fuse. I bypassed the fuse using the existing wiring to see if the thermal switch was bad. i set the heating element on the floor which is cermamic, no worries about heat. I also had to trick the doors to think they were shut and keep the small blower motor able to run. When i ran the upper dryer everythig worked, which told me the thermal fuse blew. i let it run to see if the thermal switch would cuttoff at the right temp. I set the meat thermometer on top of the heating element to get a rough reading. The switch cut out at about 250 degrees, but in the meantime, the small blower motor bearings sounded like they were burning out. Eventually the motor locked up. This explains with the thermal fuse went, there was no airflow after the motor locked up. so i ordered a new motor and picked up a new fuse. put it all back together and all is well.

Wifey was happy.
