I orderd the heating element on line from PartSelect.com. It arrived in two days. Once I unplugged the dryer and pulled it away from the wall I removed 8 screws with a nut driver. I cleaned all the lint and dust from the back of the dryer and then removed the old heating element by unscrewing the two screws on either side of the housing. When it came out i labeled the three wires and removed them from the old element. I also had to remove the thermosthadt that was on the old element and install it on the new one. I replaced the three wires and re-installed the new heating element into its housing and put the back of the dryer back on. I also installed a new dryer vent while I was at it. Total time about 20 minutes.
Thank you PartSelect for your promt delivery and also to everyone who writes in with their repair/replacement tips and stories. Now my old dryer runs like new and I saved a bundle!
