SO the 2 minute repair turned into 20 minutes because I had forgot that 5 years ago when the latch first broke I super glued it back into place! After removing the screws I used a flat head screwdriver as a chisal. It seems that the glued latch gained super powers as it fought to stay on the door. Part Select was great!
