Getting the agitator out was the biggest hurdle. It was good to have the info from others that had the same problem. I ended up using a nylon strap with a buckle(used on a suitcase when you travel)and putting it under the bottom of the agitator and using a two by four as a lever. Leaning on it and even putting most of my weight on it didn't do it. Finally I took a rubber sledge hammer and pounded the end of the board three or four times and it popped off. Replacing the coupling was a piece of cake, as was puttting it back together. Unfortunately when I ran the cycle it still didn't agitate (88% chance coupling was the prob) So next I took the front off and checked the belt ...... it was fine. Probably the clutch or the motor ...... washer is too old to pay to have either of those replace. I replaced the dial (since I had the part anyway) It also was very difficult to pry off and I broke the plastic ring in the process ........
