multi-meter was used to check appropiate voltage. The control panel was removed by unscrewing four phillips head screws. When the timer was rotated there was an arc or small flash inside the timer which was visible. Power was disconnected and the timer unit was removed. first step was to kill power source- Remove snap cap on control knob removed locking spring clip which enable you to remove the entire control knob. Two 5/16 screws were removed using appropate nutdriver. Simply unplug two wiring harness and reassemble.
