1 - Removed the remaining part of the old knob assembly by grabbing the thin rim with needlenose pliers and twisting to rotate counterclockwise.

2 - Placed new assembly in place and hand tightened in clockwise direction. The selector only moves clockwise, so it isn't necessary to use tools to tighten the assembly.
