Had to replace the Auger Assembly - Ice Bucket. Ice would back up and when bucket was full it would take forever for ice to dispense due to auger blade was cracked. This repair job was not simple due to plastic parts around assembly difficult to remove for fear of cracking them. Started off by removing to screws on bottom and top to remove plastic cover. Then other side had clear plastic protector to remove. Removed that and also on the bottom there is the long metal rod that used to up/close ice hole you have to undo the screw so the rod can be removed from housing. Make sure its undone but dont have to completely remove it so one can remove the outer white plastic coverings. The main challenge was getting the inside white plastic cover to remove from housing to get at auger assembly. This plastic piece had tabs on side but they do not move so I used a flat head screw driver to pry a little clearance on each side and then forced the plastic cover out. This was set in there pretty good and did not want to crack any parts. Once this is removed you can fully see the auger assembly. Make sure you remember how it goes together. The end of auger has a c clamp that is metal on top of plastic screw. This was a pain to remove and be careful or you will crack the plastic screw tabs. I used a flat head screw driver to pry it off. Once this is removed you can unscrew the screw on the end. Its reversed screw meaning you have to turn it to the right or clockwise to loosen it or you strip the threads. Once this is removed i took each screw or washer or blade off in order and set them around an old screw driver in the exact order they came off laid out on table in same layout as auger. This helps one remember how it goes back on in the even you forget. Easy to install new auger and they take each piece off screw driver in the order you took them off and place back on auger device. Put plastic screw back on and end c clamp. The blade on the auger with 2 blades that is attached to it that kinda swings freely in the middle of assemble has to attach back into the plastic housing properly before you snap all covers back on. Make sure you align this properly. And then fit all plastic housings back on and the clear plastic cover on top and screw back in. Make sure metal rod is aligned back on the bottom with the tab from plasitc housing which tighens with screw. This has to be lined up in the tab so when you hit button for ice it comes out. Otherwise no ice will come out as dispenser hole will be blocked. I took a few pics to see how things were put together before taking apart. Job was not too bad just have to worry about plasitc parts cracking during dis-assembly to get at auger. One should be able to do it on their own. First time i tackled this issue. The auger works great now and ice comes out normal as it should.
