I took the back panel off with nut driver. I removed the 2 screws that hold the element in place and then marked the wires with a marker and disconnected the wires and removed the element.
Then I reconnected the wires to the new element and put the 2 screws back in holding the element.
Then I cleaned the back of the dryer and the vent to make sure it wasn't stopped up. Then I replaced the back panel with nut driver and replaced the pipe to go outside and turned it on and it works better than it ever has. I have never done this before and was a little nervous about doing it but found out that it was easy.
