Turned off water supply and refrigerator power. Valve is on top of refrigerator, so easily accessible. Loosened screw holding copper water inlet line, unscrewed brass nut holding line to old valve, loosened plastic nuts to remove two outlet lines from valve (cold water and icemaker) . Removed old valve and essentially repeated above steps in reverse order with new valve. No hitch. Piece of cake. Back in business in about 15 minutes. System works fine so far, but will need to wait another week or so to be sure original problem was indeed solved by replacing dual inlet valve.
