Unsightly door handles resisted cleaning

Both handles had become unsightly. Cleaning with various household products failed to restore the white appearance. Use of stronger solvents softened the finish material and made the stain permanent. Replacement of the handles appeared to be the only remedy.

Snap-in covers on the sides of the handles had to be popped to reveal screws, one under each cover. Two other obvious screws were removed. The Amana logo plate had to be removed by un-bending two retention tabs, flipped over, then re-installed. The parts supplied do not include new screws or screw covers, all of which have to be re-used.
