timer would not shut off

Removed power to washer
removed three screws to the control panel
removed the electrical connector
removed knob
removed the timer by releasing a spring tab latch
installed new timer in reverse order

1st timer did not work, be sure to get the one for the correct series by serial number.
Once I got the correct one it worked fine.
Parts select people were very curtious and reshipped the part and credited me for the wrong one in a timely fashion.
