I removed the old heating kit by removing the trays and shelving. Then I unscrewed the back plate on the back of the refrigerator. The iced up coils were easy to see and I could unscrew the two screws holding the heating kit at the bottom of the coils. I unplugged the two power plugs at either side of the element after unplugging the refrigerator from the wall. Installing the new element was just as simple, only in reverse. Also the new element is a double heating element and so both power cords plugged in on one side.
