Part replacement was easy enough. Unfortunalty the error still existed and I thought that the part was defective. In looking for hints on the internet, I located a prodedure to enter the dishwasher in diagnostic mode by pressing various buttons. This reset the error. It would have been nice if that process had been included with the part
