I first checked for power at the leads going to the heating element, the power was ok so I removed the element box and discovered the element burned into. I found my parts for the dryer relatively easy on parts select and ordered. I had my part in three days. I reinstalled the element box and reconnected the leads then done a power check to insure the element was working properly, it checked out ok. I reinstalled the back cover and ducting, pushed dryer back in place and its continuing its service. This was a relatively easy repair as the element was contained in a metal box enclosure and only the back of the dryer had to be removed for access. My hats off to whirlpool for designing it this way,, way togo...
