Repair is very well described by the other repair descriptions on this site. There are a few things I want to add though as multiple perspectives only clarify the repair process. In hindsight, this was a very easy repair but the discovery process was very intimidating.
Take the control panel off and get it out of the way.
Take the S clamps off that holds the back panel to the washer. This is difficult and if you force it, it will bend the cover plate and the S clamps. Look at it and figure it out. It only takes two screwdrivers.
Next, tip the entire outside paneling forward. This would be the two sides, front and top panels combined. Once the paneling is off the frame, you're free to work on the switch. Put it all together in opposite order when you've replaced the switch.
Save your old screws as the new parts do not include hardware to install it.
