part replaced broke and was partially chewed up by the ice crusher jaws

First I removed the two screws that held the front ice maker cover then pivoted the cover to free it from the two top snap tabs. Depress the snap fit tabs on either side to the ice crusher mechanism and lift out, I used a small screw driver to separate the outer and inner housings on either side while lifting out the mechanism. I used a screw driver to pry off the snap ring holding the large plastic ice cube feeder screw to the mechanism. I then replaced the "cover crusher hsg dis" insuring it was positioned correctly and reassembled the complete unit. The snap ring can be re-installed with a pair of common fliers but I used a pair of snap ring pliers
