The front of the dishwasher bezel had cracked.First I removed the 7 screws holding the back panel to the front panel of the dishwasher. Note the two bottom screws are machine thread - the rest are self-tapping plastic screws. With the weight of the rear panel no longer balancing the springs, the front panel tries to close which is annoying when trying to work on it. I used vice grips to clamp onto the hinges and let them keep the door open while I worked.Next I had to remove the components (timer, control pad etc.) from the old bezel and transfer them to the new one. Not difficult but you'll need to note the order of disassembly as you could put on a part only to remove it again as another part needed to go on first. On mine the rear panel was filthy on the inside so I cleaned it thoroughly.I put the seven screws back in and it seems to be fine now.
