The element caught on fire and continued to burn even though the power supply was disconnected

Pulled the old element unit out in pieces using a philips screw drive and disconnecting the electric wire connectors from the ends of the element.

When the new element arrived I pluddged in the connectors, re-inserted the wires into the backof the oven wall and inserted and tightened the screws.

I then plugged the power supply in and turned on the bake power control. The unit operated correctly.
