I used a small flat-blade screwdriver to pry off the grey cap on the dial. Then I pulled off the other parts of the dial. Using a star-shaped socket driver, I removed the screws to the controller housing. I unplugged the old timer unit and slid it out of the housing. I put in the new timer unit, slid it into the housing, plugged it in, and reversed the steps above. The timer works perfectly now!
