Broil element died
Followed instructions on Kenmore site. One point of note. Hold onto the element wires firmly. They will retract behind the oven!!! After contacting an electrician friend who removed unit from the wall and rethreaded the wires, it went just fine.

broil element blown out
At first I tried to remove the element from the top of the oven. I took out the screws with a nut-driver (1/4"). Them I tried to pull the element out slowly so I could unplug it from the power wires. One of the wires pulled off bfore I could get it out. I then pulled the range out from the wall and removed the back from it. THEN I noticed
... Read more that if you pull the stove away from the wall first and take off the back the wires are right there and easy to take on and off. Then replace the the back panel, plug in the stove and test the element. It will give off a slight odor as the manufacturing coating is burned off.

Broiler element would not work/heat up
First I turned the power off at the breaker box. Then I removed the two screws at the rear of the oven and un-secured the three clips(top of stove) that all hold the element in place. Broiler did not work.
We had to take the back off the stove and disconnect the old element. One side had bad wiring. we had to repair the wires and inserted the new element. The job would not have taken so long if there were any kind of instructions.

Bake element and broil element burned out
Turn off the power to the stove at the circuit breaker. I then loosened the two screws at the rear of the oven and gently pulled the heating elements toward the front of the oven. Element Burn Out Top Brolier
Cut off electricity, double checked to be sure, un screwed two hex head srews --un-plugged element plugged new one in the replaced screws and hanger. Turned on electricity anddd oven good as new maybe another 21 years

The broil element on our drop - in oven has come loose from the rear element support clip . This has allowed the broil element to sag about 30 degrees in the rear. (can it be bent back into place without breaking?) I believe the broil element required is ps249274, if so does it come with a rear replacement clip? Will it need the side clips replaced? If so what are the correct numbers for the clips (i could not find a number for the rear clip) Thank you, ken Davis

Hi Kenneth, Thank you for the question. The Broil element for the model number provided is PartSelect Number PS249274. I would recommend having it replaced.It can short the control board and that is a more expensive repair. The clips come with the element.Hope this helps!
