This plastic door frame appeared to be OEM quality, but in the case of GE microwave ovens, OEM is flimsy. Removal of the door is easy, once the two screws holding the vent above it are removed - the door then lifts off. Prying the black inner frame off the door takes considerable care as does pressing all of the parts back together, since there are many plastic "fins" to retain the pieces. Shipment was quick, packaging somewhat skimpy/damaged, but the frame arrived undamaged. Repair should not take more than an hour.

The Door Frame was cracked and broken.
I removed the broken door frame and replaced it. I had to watch a youtube video to be able to remove the frame.
Others have covered the process, but I have one piece of advice. The glass must be FULLY inserted into the little tabs of the plastic door frame. It is a force fit. If you don't seat the glass fully into the tabs, the frame will be curved around the glass. The plastic will be stressed, and will very soon crack again near the bottom o

I found that any water soluble lubricant, applied with a cotton swab or small screwdriver blade into the little tabs, will allow the glass to fit into the tabs easier. I also stood the door on edge on a towel, covered the top edge with another towel and, very gingerly, used a small rubber mallet to seat the plastic rim down onto the glass. Scary, but effective. You can tell when the glass and rim are properly mated by looking down the long inner edge of the plastic rim where it meets the glass. It should be straight, not curved. Dress it with the rubber hammer until it is no longer bowed.
Wash the water-based lubricant completely off and out of the assembly, and finish up.
I have worked long years in factories, and I suspect that in the factory they have a press of some kind to do this job, and a jig to hold and align the work as it is assembled.

Followed instructions already on site. Somewhat difficult to remove inner trim ring. Need to be careful not to break this trim and also with positioning of glass.

The door panel and grille vent are plastic and thay both cracked and fell apart due to cheap plastic parts from GE.
Removed the screws at the top of vent and took the vent off and then removed the door by lifting it off the hinge. I had to break the old plastic door frame to get it off, but since it was no good anyway it didnt matter. Then I put the glass in the new frame put the handle on it and snapped the frame on to the door and put it back on t

My microwave is above my stove will this part still work? My microwave exterior door is cracked all the way through on the bottom left side...i tried to tape it but it did not hold!!
