Damaged cooktop - dropped heavy item on it

Unscrewed the control box first. (Possibly did not have to do this.) Unscrewed the cooktop from the metal box. Lifted the cooktop and unscrewed each burner. Removed the two screws that held the burners. Replaced the cracked cooktop. Reinstalled the burners and the control box. Reattached the top to the metal box. Dropped the unit back in the counter top.
Everything works and we are happy!
