I had disassembled more of the dryer than was actually necessary. I removed the housing retaining the blower wheel assembly (about 7 screws). Removed the compression clip with pliers and then the snap ring with snap ring pliers. The old blower wheel came off the motor D shaft easily. Replaced blower wheel and re-assembled in reverse order. The belt was dry and cracked so I replaced it as a precautionary measure. The belt is easily routed around the tensioner wheel when accessed through the rear access panel. Voila! No more rumble and about 3x more hot air discharged to the vent.
