First I turned off the water source to the filter. I then removed the insulation housing for the filter cup using a nutdriver to remove the screw holding it. Next I removed the two screws attaching the filter cup to the refrigerator wall with the nut driver. The most difficult part was detaching the water tubings from the filter cup, it was a matter of sliding the connector in the right direction. I then installed the new filter cup reversing the procedure I followed to remove the old filter cup and insulation housing. My husband was pretty impressed and was especially happy with the repair only cost him a dinner out not a $75 to $100 service fee.
