The washmachine would fill with water and then and agitate. When it was time for the spin cycle it would start the spin cycle and quit.

Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet.I removed the control panel of 5 screws. then removed the control knobs. The timer knob has a plastic piece that must be screwed off. The timer itself has 2 screws and two electrical connectors that must be unplugged.
