The old switch had already been removed after it began to smoke, by removing two screws and removing the electrical wires. I then replaced the wires back into the new switch, replaced the two screws and all done. By the way, this was the first repair to this stove, which is well over 30 years old. Believe it or not!!! It still works like a champ and doesn't look a day over 5 years old. It pays to buy quality doesn't it? Joyce Gregory
