The repair was easy in large part to the very clear directions furnished with the agitator repair kit. Pop the cap on the agitator by slipping a small screw driver in the small slot at its base. You then reach in and pull out an inner seal--it has little handles to grab...the toughest part is that it is a tight fit for larger hands inside the agitator tube. I thought about getting the wife to do it, but I finally got it. This exposes the connecting nut. You will need a socket wrench with about 8-10 inch extension to reach the nut that secures the augur (upper agitator) to the lower agitator. Then just follow the directions to replace the dogs, thrust washer, and sealing washers. Reassemble and use plenty of soap to lube the large inner seal, and be sure it seats firmly and squarely in the agitator tube. Easy job and runs like new.
