Dishwasher door was open when the latch broke. I removed the screws around the door liner (requires a special "star shaped" screwdriver bit). The old handle was now loose, but attached by wires connected to 2 micro switches. It was easier to remove the micro switches than it was to get the wires off, so I slid the micro switches off the old latch and onto the new, depressing the switch actuators to get them into place on the new latch. Put the latch into place and re-fitted the door liner. Tightened the screws very carefully, especially the ones going into plastic. New latch works better than the old one ever did, even when it was new. Just make sure you have the right screwdriver bit to fit those screws, and be careful not to strip the screw threads out when re-fitting the door liner. Avoid letting the screws cut new threads, make sure they follow the existing threads especially when screwing into plastic.
